A one piece blank 10 for forming into an all-in-one infants garment, for example pyjamas, comprises a front 11 and a back 12 body-forming portion with a neck opens ing 15, and sleeve-forming portions 13 with cuff-forming portions 14, the front bodyforming portion 11 being divided by a cut 16 down the front into two sections 17, 18 which diverge at least on the lower part, the back-forming portion 12 having legforming portions 22 ending in foot-forming portions 23 and a crotch-forming portion 25 shaped to fit the cut-out 20 formed where the front leg-forming portions 24 diverge. The outside edges of the leg-forming portions 22, 24, the body-forming portions 11, 12, foot-forming portions 23 and the underside of the sleeves 13 are seamed together by a continuous seam 33 and the inside edges of the foot portions 23 and leg portions 22, 24 are seamed by inside seaming 34. The end 30 of the foot-forming portion is concave so that the foot portion formed is made to face forward when the end 30 is joined to the related end edge 31 by a lateral seam 32. The cuff-forming portion 14 is reverted against the adjacent section of the related sleeve forming portion 13 and secured by overlock stitching 35. Separable fasteners, such as snap fasteners 39a, 39b are secured to a reinforcing tape 38 along the inner edges 17 18 of the front body-forming portion 11, the inside edges of leg-forming portions 22, 24 above the inside seams 34, and the edges 27 of the crotch part 26. The blanks 10A, 10B, 10B, Fig. 2, are cut from a onepiece fabric tube of two-way stretch knitted pile fabric and collars 41a are also cut from the same piece of fabric and are stitched round the edges of neck openings 15. An inside seam 34 also of overlock stitching is formed to join the inside edges of the folded foot-forming portions 23 and also of the adjacent lower parts of the front and back leg-forming portions 24, and 22. A length of elastic 36 is stitched to the inside surface of the back body-forming portion 12 while the latter is shirred or gathered. |
