<p>The present invention is a large-scale, low cost, array of optical magnetometers. The invention utilizes known elements from planar optics and from optical magnetometry in order to achieve its goals. The basic principle of the invention is to use a single light source, which can be more powerful than the individual separate sources used with prior art optical magnetometers, and planar optical elements to direct the light to multiple sites of a sensor array. The invention could lead to monolithic fabrication of optical magnetometer sensor arrays.</p> |
