The water filter cartridge useful in a tank for household appliances, food processing devices, coffee dispensers, drinking water dispensers, cooking and baking devices, steam irons, steam cleaners, high-pressure cleaners, air pressure cleaners and/or conditioners, comprises a filter connector element having an interior and/or exterior peripheral surface with polygonal contour. The connection element is formed as attachable projections at a corresponding connection element and as a recess for the reception of the corresponding connection element.
