The invention relates to a measuring device, to a roll stand and to associated methods for high-precision position detection. In order to increase the measuring precision and reliability of the measuring device in the form of a position sensor, according to the present invention the position sensor is designed as a photoelectric position sensor, and a signal transducer unit (120) associated with the photoelectric position sensor is designed to the effect that the position sensor measurement signal (S1) of the photoelectric position sensor is not only received and converted into the transducer output measurement signal using the desired signal format, but the amplitude of the position sensor measurement signal is also compared there to a predetermined amplitude threshold value. |
