<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To defrost an outdoor heat exchanger without losing warmth to be felt by a user. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes an outdoor heat exchanger 14, an indoor heat exchanger 16, a four-way valve 8, and a compressor 6, and melts the frost sticking to the outdoor heat exchanger 14 using a refrigerant that is heated by the compressor 6. The air conditioner includes an indoor wall temperature detecting means 46 for detecting a temperature of the wall in the room and a defrosting means which, when it is determined that defrosting is required, selects either a heating cycle or a cooling cycle based on the indoor wall temperature detected with the indoor wall temperature detecting means 46, and controls the four-way valve 8 to perform the selected cycle for defrosting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
