<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter the base end side of a shaft of which can exhibit a kink resistance and which exhibits a high operability and can respond to individual difference or the like in the shape of a blood vessel including the degree of meandering, the length or the like into which the shaft is inserted. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter 10A includes: the shaft 12 exhibiting flexibility; a strain relieving part 16 which is arranged on the shaft 12 and surrounds a predetermined range on its base end side; and a hub 14 which is arranged at the base end of the strain relieving part 16.
