The gauge i.e. glow plug, has a heating rod (4) arranged in a housing, and moved along axial direction and protruding from the housing under effect of pressure in a combustion chamber. A pressure sensor (5) measures the pressure acting on the heating rod, and is secured to a housing membrane (8). The heating rod projects through the housing membrane. A diaphragm (9) is arranged between the sensor and the housing membrane, and generates restoring force based on axial displacement of the heating rod caused by the pressure on the heating rod.
