TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal controller capable of enhancing reliability with reduced influence caused by abnormality while detecting the abnormality in its early stage.

SOLUTION: A CPU 10 sends out a stepping command for changing over a light color of a signal light device 1 to a sub circuit 11 based on currently indicated data. The sub circuit 11 outputs a light color signal for changing over the light color of the signal light device 1 to a change-over circuit 14 based on the stepping command. The CPU 10 determines whether or not the sub circuit 11 is normal and outputs a determination result to a monitoring circuit 12. The sub circuit 11 outputs a result of determination whether or not the CPU 10 is normal to the monitoring circuit 12. The monitoring circuit 12 determines whether or not the CPU 10 is normal and whether or not the sub circuit 11 is normal based on the obtained determination results and sends out the light color signal corresponding to the determination result or a change-over signal for changing over to a flashing light signal to the change-over circuit 14.
