<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holographic data storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: The holographic data storage medium (1) has a polymer film which is set up as a storage layer (2) and whose surface structure can be changed locally by heating. The polymer film (2) is set up for the storage of holographic information via the local surface structure (6) of the polymer film (2). A reflective layer can be provided on the data storage medium. The polymer film (2) is pulled, preferably biaxially pulled.
