Provided is an ink jet recording method for managing the water content of a recording medium and definitively curing ultraviolet-curable ink. The ink jet recording method for managing the water content of a recording medium and definitively curing ultraviolet-curable ink contains: a feeding step for feeding the recording medium; a discharge step for discharging aqueous ultraviolet-curable ink onto the recording medium; a moisture adjustment step for adjusting in a manner such that the water content difference between the water content on the surface of the recording surface side of the recording medium after the discharge step and the water content on the surface of the recording surface side of the recording medium during the feeding step is between 2g/m2 and 5g/m2, inclusive; and a fixing step for, using ultraviolet rays having a radiation amount of at least 800mJ/cm2, curing and fixing the aqueous ultraviolet-curable ink on the recording medium, which has had the water content difference adjusted. |
