PURPOSE: A self refresh control circuit of a semiconductor memory apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to diffuse peak current consumption by a self refresh process, thereby stably performing a refresh process. CONSTITUTION: A code generation part(301) comprises an oscillation part and a counter part. The counter part generates a code corresponding to a counting result of a periodic wave. The counter part initializes a code value when a code value is reached to a predetermined value. A bank active signal generation unit(303) decodes the code in order to generate a plurality of bank active signals activated with different code values. An address generation part(305) changes a row address for each activation process of the bank active signals.
