The method involves introducing a ventilation mat (2) in an open cavity of a foaming tool and fixing the ventilation mat in the inner surface of the cavity by magnetic force. The tool is closed and plastic foam is injected into the cavity to form a foam cushion (1) with ventilation mat. The ventilation mat is provided with magnetic material which is distributed such that penetration plastic foam between the mat and inner surface of cavity is prevented.
