PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing olanzapine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and basic antioxidant is provided to preserve the effects of olanzapine with reduced side effects. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition with improved stability contains olanzapine or the pharmaceutical composition thereof and a basic antioxidant. The basic antioxidant is sodium citrate and hydrate thereof, sodium ascorbate, sodium erythorbate, ascorbyl palmitate, or a mixture thereof. The pharmaceutical composition contains 1-10 wt% of olanzapine or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, 0.05-20 wt% of basic antioxidant, 1-6 wt% of binder, 60-90 wt% of excipient, 1-10 wt% of disintegrant, and 0.1-3 wt% of lubricant.
