PURPOSE: A bulb shaped bow of a large low-speed ship is provided to effectively reduce resistance in a light-load condition of a large low-speed ship without a large change in hull shape. CONSTITUTION: A large low-speed ship has a designed draft(C) and a light draft(E). A bulb shaped bow of the large low-speed ship has a water plane shape where the half-width(G) of the light draft of the section FP satisfies 0.65F <= G <= 0.85F. FP is a vertical line that is located at the crossing point between the bow profile of a hull and a full draft, F is the half-width of the middle draft(D) of longitudinal section FP, and the middle draft is a draft corresponding to a position of (designed draft(C) + light draft(E)) × 0.5.
