The method involves receiving contents by a terminal (STB) in protected form, with messages (ECM) defining a criterion of access to contents (MM). A verification of a compatibility is made between right data (DD) stored by the terminal and the criterion of access defined in the messages, where the verification of compatibility is conditioned to access the contents. A request (REQ) is emitted at destination of a remote server (SER) to obtain another right data (DD') and reiterate the verification from the latter right data in the event of failure in the verification.
