Vulcanisable rubber materials (I) contain (per 100 pts.wt. rubber), (a) 1-5 pts. wt. di-(1-6C alkoxy)thiophosphoryl trisulphide (PS-3), (b) 0.1-2 pts.wt. N-trichloro-methylsulphenyl benzenem sulphonanilide (II), (c) 0-1 pt.wt. sulphur, (d) 0-5 pts.wt. dibenzothiazyl disulphide (MBTS) and/or 2-mercaptobenzthiazole (MBT) and (e) 0-3 pts.wt. sulphenamide accelerator, namely benzthiazyl-2-cyclohexyl-, benzthiazyl-2-tert.-butyl- or benzthiazyl -2-dicyclohexyl -sulphenamide. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for the prodn. of vulcanised prods. (claimed). (I) do not give rise to carcinogenic nitrosamines under vulcanisation conditions (contrast, e.g. systems contg. thiuram cpds. as accelerators); the vulcanised prods. have the required mechanical properties etc.
