<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition which has both of low temperature coefficient of the refractive index and excellent light transmittance, and is suitable for use in an environment of large temperature change. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass comprises SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, B<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, and La<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, wherein a temperature coefficient (20-40°C) of the relative refractive index (546.07 nm) is ≤10.0×10<SP POS="POST">-6</SP>(°C<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>), a temperature coefficient (20-40°C) of the relative refractive index (546.07 nm) is ≤4.6×10<SP POS="POST">-6</SP>(°C<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>), or an internal transmittance (τ10 mm) at 400 nm is ≥80%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
