The present invention relates to gas vertical separation units designed to capture aerosol and fine particulate, including aggressive liquid and solid particles from the gas stream, and can be used in oil, gas, chemical and other branches of industry. A method of modernization of a gas separation unit, in which structural elements are dismantled that are inside the separator cage, and then the dismantled construction elements are removed from the internal space of the separator through a hatch, a separating device, mounting beams and an adapter sleeve are installed in the inner space of the separator, and then using the mounting beams the separating device is rigidly fastened to at least one support element of the separator, and the inlet pipe of separation device is connected to the inlet pipe of the separator through the adapter sleeve. At the same time the separation device is made in the form of a compact high-performance industrial vortex separator comprising inlet, outlet and discharge pipes, and fastening the separation device to the mounting beams and the mounting beams to the support elements is made by means of a detachable joint or welding, and additionally through the adapter pipe the outlet of separation unit is connected to the outlet of separator. In addition, through the adapter pipe the drain pipe of separation device is connected to the drain pipe of the separator. The gas separator comprises a vertical housing, inlet, outlet pipes, a pipe, the separation device is secured on at least one support element. The invention provides significant reduction in labor costs and energy consumption, reduction of material content of equipment, increase of corrosion resistance of the separator walls to action of aggressive liquids and solids. |
