<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road lamp lighting unit capable of irradiating a required road surface without exchanging a conventional case in the road lamp lighting device. <P>SOLUTION: The road lamp lighting unit 7 capable of being installed in a case 1 arranged at an upper top part of a pole 2 provided on a road comprises a plurality of LED modules 6 made of one or a plurality of LED elements 5, a shade 3 of an almost rectangular parallelepiped shape, and a reflection plate 4 arranged at a ceiling face inside the shade. The LED modules are arranged on the ceiling face and a side wall face of the shade at different angles of at least two kinds. The LED modules arranged on the ceiling face are arranged so as to be closer to the pole.
