<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pet food structurally designed to have a dental care function. <P>SOLUTION: The pet food 10 having a prescribed length and is formed into a columnar or stick-like shape is formed as follows: a plurality of through holes 12 each composed of a string-like long hollow space continuously extending in a longitudinal direction are internally formed; and the through holes 12 are open at both ends thereof respectively. An excellent toothbrushing effect is obtained when a pet chew the pet food (when the teeth of the pet get into the through holes 12, or the pet food 10 is broken, cut off or cut into strings owing to chewing) because the end parts, the cut-off ends, and/or broken pieces of the pet food 10 rub up the surfaces of the teeth of the pet, repeatedly hit the surfaces of the teeth of the pet every time when chewed, and get in and out of so-called periodontal pockets to have a higher possibility to clean (scrape out) food particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
