<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing seal members including a punching plate which can improve its workability concerning a work to remove an unnecessary part of an inorganic fiber mat. <P>SOLUTION: Seal members 34 for exhaust gas-processing bodies are manufactured by punching process from an inorganic fiber mat 31 using a punching plate 11. When punching the inorganic fiber mat using the punching plate 11, a plurality of the seal members are formed by a first punching blade 14 and a third punching blade 16, and a frame shaped unnecessary part continuing at connecting parts is formed by a second punching blade 15. The punched inorganic fiber mat is transferred in a state of surrounding a plurality of the seal members inside the frame shaped unnecessary part and divided unnecessary parts are removed by tearing the connecting parts off from the frame shaped unnecessary part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
