<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which is capable of improving safety by easily transmitting heat of a battery cell to a temperature-sensitive element. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes: a bare cell comprising a can, a cap plate at an upper portion of the can, and an electrode terminal projecting from the cap plate; and a protection circuit module at an upper portion of the bare cell.
