<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stable image quality by detecting the condition of developer in a development device in a simple manner and changing the imaging condition. <P>SOLUTION: A detection system includes: developer residual detection means that can sequentially output signals corresponding to a behavior of developer in a developer housing 42; two electrode members 44 and 70 that are arranged so as to sandwich a developer agitator 47 disposed in the developer housing 42; capacitance detection means that applies an oscillation voltage to one electrode member 44 of the two electrode members to detect capacitance between the two electrode members from an electrical signal induced in the other electrode member; and calculation function part that calculates a maximum value, a minimum value and an integral mean value of the capacitance detected in a specific time period. Further, deterioration of the developer (a condition of the developer) is detected based on the calculated values of the capacitance and an amount of developer residual detected by the developer residual detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
