<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is applicable to display of a three-dimensional image also by reducing the degradation of image quality due to provision of a protective plate having a light shielding part. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device 1 where a protective plate 3 having a scattering prevention sheet 31 stuck to one surface of a glass plate 30 is laminated on a display surface of a liquid crystal panel 2, a light shielding part 32 to be provided in a peripheral edge of the protective plate 3 is formed on not the glass plate 30 but the scattering prevention sheet 31 by printing using a light blocking paint. Stress is generated in the glass plate 30 due to formation of the light shielding part 32 to produce a non-uniform distribution of residual stress in the glass plate 30, so that an optical isotropy intrinsic to the glass plate 30 is not spoiled. Furthermore, the scattering prevention sheet 31 is made of a resin material having an optical isotropy to prevent the quality degradation of an image viewed through the protective plate 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
