The present invention relates to a method for handling a solid composition comprising a metallocene catalyst,comprising the step of: transporting said composition in a closed and oxygen-free transportation container provided with a bottom discharge opening. The container is advantageous for storing a metallocene catalyst, particularly in a dry form. Preferably, the bottom discharge opening of the method of the invention is provided with a ball valve. The container of the invention allows for safe transportation and handling of hazardous catalyst materials.
