<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently producing 1, 5-diketones useful as a raw material for various chemical products. <P>SOLUTION: An aromatic compound and a glutaric acid derivative or 4-aroyl butyrates are reacted in the presence of a solid acid catalyst and 1, 5-diketones having the same aromatic substituent or aromatic substituents different from each other is produced. A solid acid catalyst, such as zeolite can be used as a catalyst. Beta type, Y-type, etc. can be used as zeolite, and it is preferable to use one having a silica/alumina ratio of 2-1,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
