IMAGE ENCODING DEVICE AND ENCODED IMAGE STREAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding device and an image decoding device to generate encoded data by selectively using inter-pixel filters depending on various situations.

SOLUTION: An image encoding device 300 generates encoded image data by encoding a difference of image data Img indicating an input image and prediction image data Pred indicating a prediction image with respect to the input data. The image encoding device 300 includes an image decoding part 104 to decode the image data Img after encoding it; inter-pixel filters A303 and B304 to perform inter-pixel filter calculation on decoded image data Recon obtained by the image decoding part 104; switches 301 and 302 to select one of the inter-pixel filters; and a inter-picture prediction part 108 to generate prediction image data Pred with respect to the input image data Img by using filtered/decoded image data FilteredImg1 obtained by the selected inter-pixel filter as reference image data Ref.
