<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow estimation of a document date even when date meta-information cannot be acquired. <P>SOLUTION: A document date estimation device includes a first date estimation part, a second date estimation part, a third date estimation part, a date expression recording part, and a date correction part. The date expression recording part preliminarily records a date expression capable of specifying an absolute date. When a document includes date meta-information, the first date estimation part defines the date of the date meta-information as a document date. The second date estimation part obtains a date candidate recorded in the date expression recording part, in accordance with a file name included in the document or information specifying the document and, if the date candidate completely includes a date, defines the date candidate as a document date. The third date estimation part complements a date candidate by using a date when the document was acquired, to obtain a date candidate. When the third date estimation part obtains the date candidate, the date correction part searches a date expression matching the date expression recorded by the date expression recording part, from the document and defines a date which can be specified, as a document date. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
