<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a skin region. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device 21 irradiates a subject with light of a first wavelength and light of a second wavelength. A camera 22 incorporates an image sensor having at least a first light-receiving element for receiving the light of the first wavelength and a second light-receiving element for receiving the light of the second wavelength. A first mosaic image is generated on the basis of reflection light from the subject while the subject is irradiated with the light of the first and second wavelength made incident to the image sensor, and there are generated a first image obtained by first interpolation processing based on a pixel value of a pixel corresponding to the first light-receiving element, among pixels constituting the generated first mosaic image, and a second image obtained by second interpolation processing based on a pixel value of a pixel corresponding to the second light-receiving element. An image processing apparatus 23 then detects a skin region on the basis of the first and second images. The present invention may be applicable to a computer or the like that extracts a skin region representing the skin of a human being from an image obtained by e.g., image pickup. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
