<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with which user can easily perform communication based on image data. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device comprises a storage unit, a pattern extraction unit, an identifier acquisition unit, and a communication unit. The storage unit stores an image pattern in correlation with identification information which identifies a communication destination. The pattern extraction unit extracts an image pattern from picked-up image data. The identifier acquisition unit refers to the storage unit and acquires identification information correlated with the image pattern extracted by the pattern extraction unit.
