Asphalt or bituminous product when used for roadway applications is disclosed, wherein said asphalt or bituminous product comprises a hot-melt binder, said binder comprising at least one additive, having a melting temperature greater than 60 Deg. C, for lowering the production temperature of the asphalt product relative to that of the base product, wherein the additive is at least one fatty acid triglyceride, said fatty acid being itself selected from the group consisting of saturated fatty acids comprising from 12 to 30 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by at least one hydroxyl function or by a C1-C4 alkyl radical. Also disclosed is a process for preparing a hot-melt flowable asphalt product, comprising mixing a hot-melt binder, optionally added with polymers, with mineral fillers, asphalt aggregates and said at least one additive for lowering the production temperature of said asphalt product as defined herein, in which the mixing temperature is between 140 Deg. C and 180 Deg. C; and a process for preparing bituminous coated materials, comprising mixing a hot-melt binder, optionally added with polymers, with mineral fillers, coated material aggregates and said at least one additive for lowering the production temperature of the asphalt product as defined herein, in which the mixing temperature is between 90 Deg. C as defined herein and 130 Deg. C. These asphalt or bituminous products are used for making road surfaces, pavement surfaces or other urban facilities, sealing layers for engineering structures and buildings, sealants, pavement seals and heat sealing materials. |
