<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a process of a 3D compatible terminal to which a content is delivered. <P>SOLUTION: A predetermined transmission form of content is transmitted from a content server 10 together with meta information and a control signal also. The meta information includes information indicating whether the content is 3D entirely or partly, information indicating whether a beginning of the content is 2D or 3D in the case of the partly 3D, and identification information for a 3D transmission scheme in the case of the 3D content. The control signal includes a signal for distinguishing between the 2D and the 3D, that is, switching information concerning a switching timing between the 2D and the 3D. An encoding part 154 encodes the content stored in a content storage part 151 and the meta information generated by a meta information generation part 152 and the control signal generated by a control signal generation part 153 using a predetermined encoding system.
