<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation state display method of a processing machine for eliminating such a problem that since a signal light is turned into a tower state according as a conductive state, an alarm state, and an emergency stop state or the like as the operation state of the processing machine is frequently displayed, and height L is made high as a result, the height may become an obstacle in case of transporting and carrying in a machine. <P>SOLUTION: The operation state display method of the processing machine is characterized by installing a planar illumination device for displaying a predetermined color according to an operation state on a cover surface covering the periphery of the processing machine. Also, the planar illumination device is configured by using an LED light emitting element to determine the operation state of a processing device, and to display it with a desired luminescent color by a software of a control device for controlling the illumination device. Furthermore, the planer illumination device is installed so as to be arranged in a concave section of a cover of the processing machine so that eye-friendly light emission can be achieved.
