The gear box (10) has a housing portion (12) by which a receiving space (14) is limited area by area. Gear elements (20, 24) are accommodated in the receiving space and rotatable relative to the housing portion around a rotational axis (28). The gear elements are lubricated by a lubricant (30) stored in the receiving space. A filter device (34) has a collecting container (44) with a filter opening (48), where the container is fixed relative to the housing portion and partially arranged within the receiving space. The lubricant is filtered through the filter opening.
