LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and driving method thereof are provided to vary the viewing angle of a liquid crystal panel by controlling voltage which supplies to a transparent electrode in a narrow viewing angle mode. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal layer(150) which is formed between a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a first insulating layer, a pixel electrode(120), a second insulating layer, and a common electrode. The second substrate includes a transparent electrode(170) which is formed on a color filter. A driving unit drives a liquid crystal panel. A molecular arrangement direction of a liquid crystal layer is different according to electrode difference between a pixel electrode and a transparent electrode.
