The present invention provides a method for realizing video browsing, an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) video monitoring system, and a monitoring front end. The method includes: a monitoring front end receives a first call request for browsing videos in the monitoring front end from a monitoring client end, wherein the first call request is the call request directly routed to the monitoring front end by an IMS core network when no media session connection exists between a server and the monitoring front end; if the number of the media session connections directly established between the monitoring front end and other client ends, reaches a maximal connection number supported by the monitoring front end, the monitoring front end enables the monitoring client ends to browse the videos in the monitoring front end, through the forwarding via the server, according to the first call request; otherwise, a media session connection is directly established between the monitoring front end and the monitoring client end for enabling the monitoring client end to browse the videos in the monitoring front end. The solutions of the present invention can realize the optimized resources configuration under all kinds of service models for the video monitoring. |
