The method involves supporting a component (38) of gas turbine on a main shaft (30) of a rotational friction sealing machine (1) and relatively moving the component (38) with respect to another component (56) gripped by a holder (58). The components are pressed together to form a connection zone in the mating faces and interconnected by performing friction welding. The component (38) is detachably coupled with a flywheel (22) in order to maintain the component (56) in standstill position during start of pressing of components. An independent claim is included for rotational friction sealing machine.
