The invention relates to a shade canopy comprising two posts (1) and (2) spaced apart generally along the width of the structure, each post (1) and (2) being hingedly secured at the base thereof to a support (3) solidly connected to a concrete foundation (4), the upper end of each post (1) and (2) being hingedly connected to a part (12) - (13) of the structure. Each post (1) and (2) comprises at least two knee braces (6) and (7) offset by 90 degrees and connected angularly between the base of the posts and a part of the structure.
