PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for searching a content in a portable terminal is provided to improve the content search performance. CONSTITUTION: A 4D data search unit(102) searches a content corresponding to a keyword. The 4D data search unit outputs a time setup menu which changes a time domain. The 4D data search unit researches the searched content based on the time domain corresponding to the rotation of the time setup menu. The 4D data search unit increases the preset search range or reduce the preset search range. The 4D data search unit researches the searched content.
