The invention relates to adjustment devices having an actuator with which a phase actuator designed substantially as a preferably planar planetary gearing (18) can be activated. The phase actuator has a center gear (29), planetary gears (27) that mesh therewith and a hollow gear (31), the internal toothing of which engages with the planetary gears (27). To allow the precise adjustment of the relative angle position of the cam shaft to the crank shaft with a simple and cost-effective production and assembly, the center wheel (29) of the planetary gearing (18) surrounds a connection element (19), with which the phase actuator can be connected to the cam shaft or that is part of the cam shaft. The adjustment device is used for cam shaft adjustments that change the angle position between the crank shaft and the cam shaft during operation of the engine.
