The method involves making fractions (3, 4) of gas (1) to be in contact with fractions (5, 6) of absorbing solution in absorbing sections (SA1, SA2) arranged in a same absorption column (C) to obtain an acidic compound depleted gas fraction (7) and an acidic compound enriched liquid, and another acidic compound depleted gas fraction and another acidic compound enriched liquid (9), respectively. The acidic compound depleted gas fractions are combined and made to be in contact with washing water (23) in a washing section (SL) to obtain washed gas (21) and organic compound charged washing water. The absorbing solution comprises 10-80 weight percent of amine chosen from monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, methyl diethanolamine, diisopropylamine, diglycolamine, piperazine, N-2-hydroxyethyl piperazine and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylhexane-1,6-diamine.
