PURPOSE: A rotational angle sensor is provided to ensure that a first driven gear is stably engaged with a small gear regardless of the state of the first sawtooth part of the small gear by floating the first driven gear from the protruding surface of a large gear. CONSTITUTION: A rotational angle sensor comprises a small gear(25) having a first sawtooth part on the exterior thereof, a rotor(6) which is formed coaxially with the small gear and has a second sawtooth part on the exterior thereof that protrudes more than the small gear and a large gear(24) having a protruding surface between the first and second sawtooth parts, a first driven gear(7) which is engaged with the first sawtooth part of the small gear, a second driven gear(8a,8b) which is engaged with the second sawtooth part of the large gear and has a different rpm from the first driven gear when the rotor is rotated at a fixed angle, and a rotation detecting unit which detects the rotation angle of the rotor according to the rotation angles of the first and second driven gears.
