<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic door opening/closing device capable of maintaining the backlash between a rack and a pinion in an appropriate state to prevent excessive noise from occurring and the teeth of the rack and the pinion from being damaged. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic door opening/closing device of this invention includes a rack 12 disposed on an upper frame 7b of a glass sliding door 3A, a pinion 11 engaged with the rack 12 and a driver portion 5 with the pinion 11 connected thereto. The pinion 11 is rotationally driven by the driver portion 5. The driver portion 5 is disposed to a base plate 21. The pinion 11 is attached via the driver portion 5 to the base plate 21. The base plate 21 is fixed via an anti-vibration member 22 to a casing 15 facing the upper frame 7b.
