MOBILE OBJECT DETECTION DEVICE AND MOBILE OBJECT DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object detection device capable of detecting a mobile object even on a nonlinear image captured with a camera having a wide-angle imaging range.

SOLUTION: The mobile object detection device is equipped with: a dividing conversion unit which divides a nonlinear image captured with the camera mounted on a vehicle and having a wide-angle imaging range into a plurality of images in a preset visual angle range to generate a plurality of linear projected plane images having a common camera center; a motion vector calculation unit which calculates the motion vector of each of the projected plane images; a mobile object determination unit which analyses the motion vector of the projected plane images and determines the mobile object; and a display unit which displays the determination result of the mobile object determination unit.
