<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an In-free silver-oxide-based electric contact material having excellent machinability and contact resistance stability. <P>SOLUTION: This silver-oxide-based electric contact material is formed by internally oxidizing an Ag alloy having a composition containing, by wt.%, 5-15% Sn, 0.05-1.5% Te, and Cu of ≥0.05% and <1% as added metals, and the balance Ag with unavoidable impurities, and thereafter performing high-temperature heat treatment.
