<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering moisture in internal combustion engine exhaust gas, recovering the moisture contained in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine by an inexpensive means. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine 2 is purified by a purification catalyst 5 provided in the middle of an exhaust pipe 4. After purification, a part of the exhaust gas is branched off from the exhaust pipe 4 downstream of the purification catalyst 5, and is introduced into an EGR cooler 9 to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas. The exhaust gas reduced in temperature is introduced and cooled in a condenser 13 to condense and recover the moisture contained in the exhaust gas.
