<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedal device for vehicles that restrains, when an impact load from the front of a vehicle is suffered, the retreat of a pedal arm by reliably working a pedal retreat restraining mechanism and can help enhance the working stability of the same by protecting a link mechanism constituting the pedal retreat restraining mechanism with the pedal arm. <P>SOLUTION: A brake pedal device 1 comprising a pedal arm 2 whose upper end is journaled to a pedal bracket 5 fitted to a dash panel to be rotatable around a rotation shaft 9, and a pedal retreat restraining mechanism that rotates the pedal arm 2 toward the front of the vehicle interlocked with an action of the dash panel to shift toward the rear of the vehicle in response to an impact load from the front of the vehicle, the pedal retreat restraining mechanism including a link mechanism 13 and a trigger 12 fitted to the vehicle body, wherein the upper half of the pedal arm 2 is divided into two branches and the link mechanism 13 of the pedal retreat restraining mechanism is arranged between the two branches of the divided part 2A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
