A portable computer readable medium system (100) and method thereof are provided, wherein the portable computer readable medium system (100) includes a computer readable medium device (102) configured to removably connect to a computer (104) including a processor (106), memory (108) in communication with the processor (106), and a communication device (110) in communication with the processor (106). The system (100) also includes a remote transceiver device (112) distant from and in communication with the computer readable medium device (102) including a processor (114) and a communication device (116) in communication with the processor (114). The system (100) further includes a notification device (118) included in one of the computer readable medium device (102) and the remote transceiver device (112), wherein the notification device (118) is configured to emit a notification when communication between the computer readable medium device (102) and the remote transceiver device (112) has been terminated.
