The device has a seat designed as a pneumatic front seat or multi-contour seat, and comprising chambers filled with gas of predetermined pressure via a pumping device (14). A control device (16) controls rotation speed of the pumping device, so that predetermined pressure is maintained, where the speed stands in a predetermined relationship with the pressure that is found in the chambers. The chambers are designed as pneumatic spring chambers such as side flange blisters (8-11), lordosis blisters (12) and massage blisters (13). An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a seat device for a vehicle.
