A detachable cover 1 for a heel wherein when attached said cover enlarges the base of the heel. The cover may comprise a conical shaped body, and may be resiliently deformable. The inner surface 2 of the cover in contact with the heel may be formed of an elastomer and may be ribbed to grip the heel.
